ABSTRACT
This study aims to introduce the system of records disposal freeze and to draw tasks and propose measure to establish it in the public sector in Korea.
First of all, it reviewed the korean regulations and practices related to disposal freeze and suggestions in research paper. While analysing the disposal freeze systems of US and Australia, it identified that the systems were principally run by the National Archives. Thus, 2 cases analysis were conducted in each country. Based on these, this paper studied what should be considered and what could be proposed for the development of the system of records disposal freeze in terms of the regulation, implementations, standard notice statement as well as procedures for korean public records.
