ABSTRACT

BaiJuyi's poems reflected the mirror image of a passionate Confucian during theTang Dynasty's transition from prosperity to decline. His literary wordsclearly flashed the thoughts of Buddhism and Taoism in the scholar class at thetime. This is consistent with the spirit of multi-cultural tolerance, opennessand enterprising before the middle of the Tang Dynasty. His claim that"Articles are written for the times, poems are written for the currentaffairs" clearly  illustrates the purpose of pragmatics. The pragmatic rhetoric of his poems has formed a unique texture in ancient Chinese literary works: clear thinking, clear and fluent language, easy singing and singing, and easy to spread. The purpose of this article is to study the pragmatic rhetoric characteristics of his poems and to reveal the essential attributes of his poems that can be universally loved by readers at home and abroad.
