ABSTRACT

This study compare the full-length novel Wei renmin fuwu, which was written by Yan Lian Ke, with the Korean movie Serve the People. One of the new trends in literature research these days is the shift from interest in novels to interest in movies in expanding the field of interest of researchers. By making Chinese novels into movies, research based on the intertextuality between novels and movies is still actively underway. In this article, we will examine the similarities and differences between novels and films through a comparative study of the Korean movie Serve the People based on the recently released Chinese novel Wei renmin fuwu. Power does not suppress desire, but it already exists where desire exists. Without worrying about what other people think of Mu-kwang and his wife Su-ryeon, they sometimes use telescopes to monitor Mu-kwang's movements and sometimes appear in Mu-kwang's dreams to enhance the movie's immersion. Yan Lian Ke a prolific writer, wrote many novels despite his poor health. He drew a great response from Chinese society by describing his family, love, society and history, and even the intellectual's view of reality with his own handwriting. The world of literature in Yan Lian Ke, which he refers to as the mythological literature, will be a mirror reflecting the reality of China. I hope that Chinese literature will go to other stages of maturity in this kind of pain.
