AB - Live stream shopping has formed a new speech community centered on hosts and viewers. This study explores the emergence and use of new address terms within this context, focusing on Babies (宝子们) and Family (家人们).
We identify two main formation paths: converting common words into terms of address and creating new expressions. Using pragmatic theories, we argue that new social relationships and communicative needs drive the creation and use of these terms.
