ABSTRACT

This paper examines Song-Gang Jeong Chul's(1536∼1593) literature world and accomplishment linked to the study of writer from a researcher's point of view, and investigates the prospect and direction of future studies. In order to do so, life history of Song-Gang, his literary works and research papers are organized in total. Then the research results of Song-Gang's literature are studied based on the prominent research trends and characteristics in terms of the time, genre, and theme. By doing so, three-dimensional interpretation of existing research flow is expected, and this can serve as a stepping stone to future research prospects and guide direction. Academic foundations need to be solidified, and the methodological awakening for easier embrace of characteristics of the work criticism and aesthetical reality are also needed in order to activate the researches that can bring light to Song-Gang's literature and personalities as an author. In other words, it is important to expand the basis for the understanding of the reason why Song-Gang was an important author in history of Korean Literature. The current studies are on-going processes, which focus on this fact, along with the realization of the meaning of classics in relation to current time.
