This study speculates on the <Soswaewon48poems> by Haseo Kim In-Who, focusing on the sense of stillness and sense of dynamic represented by it. Kim In-Who, as a Taoistic scholar and poet, is considered one of outstanding masters of Taoism, constancy, and writing as well as being a symbol of fidelity to his king.
He was a relative by marriage with Yang San-Bo, the founder of Soswaewon, and built a field of diverse exchanges in Soswaewon. Therefore, the <Soswaewon48poems> showed his affection for Soswaewon, poetic sensibility, and inner speculation and it is summarized as follows:First, the sense of stillness in <Soswaewon48poems> was expressed through speculation on seasonal scenery and self-projection. Here, he described the aesthetic sense of the four seasons through poetical imagination of Four Gracious Plants and songs on other plants. He had a clear and innocent view of things. Also, he projected his ego into the seasonal scenery to reveal his inner speculation. It was his intense perception and introspective expression of nature that Haseo was engaged in as a taoic scholar.
Second, the sense of dynamic in the <Soswaewon48poems> is expressed through the fluidity of the mountain streams and the taste of elegance in the forest. The scene of cultural exchanges harmonizing with clear water and scenery was unique. It explained the diverse flows of water such as Jenryu, Tongryu, Turyu, Gyokdan and Sapok, and shows the reasons for dynamism, aestheticism, and the true origin of water flow. Also, it showed aspects of friendly exchanges with people as a characteristic of a private garden, and the taste of entertainment in the forest. Such active sentiment was sung through reconciliation, exchange, and communication between people.
