Citation Dependency Analysis of Korean Sociology Using Author Citation Analysis: Especially on the Discussion of Decolonization

ABSTRACT

This study is made as part of an attempt to explore the citation dependency in the field of Korean sociology. 213 articles by 136 authors in <Korean Journal of Sociology> by The Korean Sociological Association issued in 2001~2005 were surveyed and their 10,172 references were analyzed. Main research results are as following: 1) Researchers in this field are fairly foreign literature oriented, and problem interest(sources of research ideas) was deriving from domestic literature, but theoretical resources was depending on foreign literature almost. 2) The foreign citation dependency of ‘Foreign Doctor' appeared greatly higher than that of ‘Domestic Doctor', therefore, the country of doctor' degree and the citation dependency was close correlation. 3) Foreign citation dependency appeared high even research to Korea society.
