ABSTRACT

Public library mobile e-book services are among the leading non-face-to-face reading services, and their use has been increasing rapidly in recent years. This study examined how perceived value, comprising service quality, perceived usefulness, and perceived ease of use, affects user satisfaction and reuse intention among 128 adult users who had used the service at least once. Online survey data were analyzed in SPSS using reliability, exploratory factor, correlation, and multiple regression analyses, together with a bootstrapped mediation analysis. All three factors significantly and positively predicted user satisfaction, with service quality showing the strongest effect (β=.356). Only perceived usefulness and ease of use directly predicted reuse intention, while the effect of service quality was fully mediated by user satisfaction, as the indirect effect was significant (.180, 95% CI [.058, .326]) whereas the direct effect was not (.042, 95% CI [-.197, .281]). User satisfaction also significantly and positively predicted reuse intention. Service quality had the strongest effect on satisfaction yet received the lowest mean rating, and among its four indicators the variety of e-book holdings had the strongest effect on both outcomes, identifying collection expansion as the priority for improvement. These findings suggest that improving service quality should be accompanied by direct enhancements in usefulness and ease of use.
