ABSTRACT

This paper is to develop an account of the recruitment process of human experiment subjects in special prison of unit 731 through an analysis of “special consignment” documents of Kwandong army. In Chapter 2 general peoples in Manchuria was basically considered as bare life outside all internal legal protections by Kwandong army, and especially anti-Japanese activists and Soviet spies was considered as dual bare life outside all internal & international legal protections. In Chapter 3 an analysis of special consignment documents reveals that anti-Japanese activists and Soviet spies was consigned into special prison for human experimentations on basis of subjective suspicion and cruel torture with unstable criteria, so that many general peoples especially in Manchuria's border regions with Soviet Union was included as human experiment subjects in special prison. Chapter 4 demonstrated a situation of specially consigned general peoples in Manchuria by special consignment and other documents.
