AB - 만주학회는 지난 2014년 3월 <20세기 만주역사 사전 韓日합동 서평 국제회의>를 개최하였다. 이 회의는 2012년 12월 일본에서 출간된 <二〇世紀満洲歴史事典>(貴志俊彦․松村史紀․松重充浩編, 吉川弘文館)의 편저자와 만주학회 연구자가 합동으로 참가하는 형식의 국제 서평회였다. 서평회 취지는 사전의 편저자를 포함한 9명과 한국 측 논평자 8명이 참가해서 20세기 만주 역사의 현대사적 중요성을 재확인하고, 일본 학계의 만주연구 성과를 공유한다는 것이었다. 회의는 일본 측이 (1)최근의 연구 동향, (2)항목 선정의 방침, (3)금후의 과제를 보고하고, 한국측이 총평을 시작으로 정치, 경제, 문화, 민족, 환경의 순으로 각각 논평하는 순서로 진행되었다. 이 서평회의 보다 구체적인 사항에 대해서는 <만주연구> 제18집에 수록한 정안기의 글(2014) '20세기 만주연구의 현황과 과제'를 참조할 수 있다.
이 발표문들은 당시 일본 측 참가자들의 발표문 9편으로, 현재 일본학계의 만주근현대사 연구의 동향과 쟁점을 일별해 볼 수 있다는 점에서 이번 <만주연구> 제19집에 수록하게 되었다. 각 발표문의 참고문헌과 논평문은 만주학회 홈페이지 [자료실]에 올려 두어 함께 참조할 수 있도록 하였다.
