AB - 이 글은 일본 <滿族史硏究>(13號, 2015)에 게재되는 오카다 히데히로(岡田英弘)의 <康熙帝の手紙>에 대한 미야와키 준코(宮脇淳子)의 서평을 한국어로 번역한 것이다. 일본학자의 서평문이 한국어로 번역되어 이번 <만주연구> 제19집에 해외학술동향으로 실리게 된 데에는 다음과 같은 사연이 있다.
지난 해 남상긍 선생의 번역으로 <강희제의 편지>(경인문화사, 2014)가 출간되어 한국에서는 원저자인 오카다 선생과 부인인 미야와키 준코 선생에게 한국어판을 보내준 일이 있었다. 당시 미야와키 선생은 그 책을 주변의 지인들에게 보여주었는데, 그 과정에서 일본 <滿族史硏究>의 편집책임자인 도쿄대학 스기야마 키요히코(杉山清彦) 선생이 한국어판을 보고 무척 감탄하여 <康熙帝の手紙> 개정증보판의 소개와 서평을 맡은 미야와키 선생에게 한국어판 출간 경위 등에 대해서도 꼭 자세히 소개했으면 좋겠다는 부탁을 하였다.
그리하여 미야와키 선생은 한국어판 출간과 관련해서 그동안 저자와 역자 간에 오고간 저간의 사정을 일본 서평에 상세하게 소개하게 된 것이다.
그 후 한국에서는 <滿族史硏究>에 게재될 미야와키 선생의 서평을 한국어로 번역해서 국내학계에도 소개했으면 좋겠다는 의향을 전했고, 미야와키 선생은 편집책임자인 스기야마 선생에게 일본의 학술지 간행 이전에 원고를 한국에 보내서 번역을 진행하도록 해도 괜찮을지 문의하였다. 스기야마 선생은 한국어판을 게재해도 무방하다는 회신, 즉 한일 양쪽 원고에 두 책(일본어판과 한국어판 <강희제의 편지>)의 관계에 대한 부기(附記)만 있으면 된다는 답변을 주었다. 이런 경위로 <강희제의 편지> 서평을 한일 양국의 만주학 전문 학술지에 그것도 거의 같은 시기에 수록 간행하게 된 것이다.
