ABSTRACT

This study analyzes the activities of the 「Chinese Society of Ideological and Political Work」, which was established in the early 1980s and has researched and propagated the national ideology related to the system transition at the level of companies and factories. As is well known, in the 2000s, social resistance of workers, peasants, and ordinary people, who resisted inequality and discrimination caused by the reform of state-owned enterprises and the dismantling of the unit system in the previous period, erupted in the form of ‘maintaining rights’, threatening the stability of state’s rule. And, the state set the top priority to ‘maintaining stability’ in response to ‘maintaining rights’. In order to analyze how the state responded to the problems of ‘maintaining rights’ and ‘maintaining stability’ in the 2000s, this study analyzes the organization and status of the 「Chinese Society of Ideological and Political Work」, the articles of the academic journal 􋺷思想政治工作研究􋺸, and the activities of the 「Anshan Steel Chinese Society of Ideological and Political Work」, which is a representative heavy industry company in the northeast China.
