ABSTRACT

This paper is addressed to assistive technologies for people with color deficiencies. I investigated, analyzed the form of problems which color blind experienced when they would try to access electronic documents and current assistive technologies and researches about this accessibility problems, and present a framework of assistive technologies. In Korea, It is estimated that more than 1 million people have color deficient vision and in world among the one in 12 men have. However, most of electronic document author may not consider their problems. The paper survey covers diagnosis for color deficiency, standard, system, assistive S/W for authoring and the other assistive technologies. The presented framework of assistive technologies is constituted with diagnosis and correction field technology which consider both of electronic documents production stage and user stage such as computerized diagnosis, correction methods and their implementations, accessibility evaluation and repair tools, and guidelines for document authors.
