ABSTRACT

As we go through transition from the industrial age to the information age, we are experiencing the fastest change and complexity in business ever expected. In order for an organization to survive, it is essential to efficiently adapt to the rapid change and to effectively control its intricacy. Enterprise Architecture is considered the best tool to appropriately manage the hurdles and it has been introduced to various public sectors according to the law on effective introduction and management of information system. Even though many models and frameworks for EA have been presented, the frameworks focuses only on developing architectures and the procedure, which enables the transition we expect from developing the architectures, is not well-defined. In this paper, by studying the existing EA frameworks and the case of US DoD, whose effort is regarded most active in utilizing EA, we propose a novel framework called Capability-Driven EA Framework well designed with explicit procedure for enterprise transformation.
