Purpose: This study aimed to identify research trends and characteristics of studies examining the impact of extreme climate events on postpartum depression through a scoping review. Methods: Following the Arksey and O’Malley framework, a scoping review was conducted. A comprehensive search was performed in PubMed, CINAHL, Google Scholar, and RISS. Two reviewers independently screened and selected studies based on predefined criteria. Thirteen articles published between 2009 and 2025 were included in the final analysis. Results: None of the included studies were conducted in Korea, and none were found to have been published in nursing journals. Hurricanes, floods, and heatwaves were the most studied climate events, and their association with increased postpartum depression risk was consistently reported. However, one article found no statistically significant association between flooding and postpartum depression. Conclusion: Considering the increasing frequency of heatwaves, typhoons, and heavy rainfall in Korea, longitudinal and context-specific research exploring this aspect is needed. Addressing the climate crisis calls for the development of comprehensive nursing interventions, educational programs, and effective policy support systems, supported by the accumulation of nursing research that highlights postpartum mental health. Future efforts should focus on developing climate-sensitive mental health interventions and policy strategies to protect maternal mental health in the era of climate crises.

Purpose: This study examined the effects of applying game-based learning to normal childbirth nursing in a women's health nursing class on nursing students' learning engagement, learning satisfaction, and teamwork. Methods: A single-group pre- and post-test design was adopted. The subjects were 77 college students enrolled in the Department of Nursing at a university in City G, who were taking women's health nursing courses. The study instrument was a self-report questionnaire consisting of 37 items: two questions on general characteristics, 17 on learning engagement, 10 on learning satisfaction, and eight on teamwork. The subjects studied normal childbirth nursing for six weeks, followed by a game-based learning session in the seventh week. Results: Learning engagement (t=-2.01, p=.048), learning satisfaction (t=-5.41, p<.001), and teamwork (t=-3.59, p=.001) significantly increased after the implementation of game-based learning. Conclusion: This study confirmed that game-based learning for normal childbirth nursing exerted a positive effect on learning engagement, learning satisfaction, and teamwork for nursing students. Therefore, we suggest that such learning be actively developed so that it can be used in various nursing classes and its effects confirmed in various variables.

Purpose: The study aimed to assess emotional labor, reality shock, resilience, job performance, and organizational socialization among new nurses. Additionally, it sought to determine the factors influencing organizational socialization in this population. Methods: This descriptive study included 135 new nurses who had been working in hospitals or medical institutions for 3-12 months. Data were collected via an online survey conducted from March 24 to May 13, 2024. The data were analyzed using frequency, percentage, mean, standard deviation, t-test, ANOVA, Pearson’s correlation coefficient, and multiple linear regression. Results: The organizational socialization score was 3.23±0.82; emotional labor, 3.34±0.91; reality shock, 2.99±1.03; resilience, 64.16±23.28; and job performance, 80.41±11.35. Factors significantly affecting organizational socialization were reality shock (β=-.48, p<.001), resilience (β=.18, p=.001), emotional labor (β=-.18, p=.001), and job performance (β=.13, p=.001). The model’s explanatory power was 88.2% (F=92.25, p<.001). Conclusion: To enhance organizational socialization among new nurses, it is essential to develop programs that reduce emotional labor and reality shock. Interventions that improve resilience and job performance can also contribute to more effective organizational socialization.
