ABSTRACT

Han, Jeong-han. 2007. Korean wordnet and the vocabularies of [cause], Korean Semantics, 24. The purpose of this paper is first to select out the vocabularies of [cause] being one of the concepts of the Korean wordnet’s concept system, in terms of using the descriptions of lemmas in <the Standard Korean Dictionary> of the national institute of the Korean language, and second to suggest the ways of describing dictionary description of those selected items. The selected vocabularies according to the aforementioned ways are 51 nouns, 1 verb, 8 endings, 4 noun+(dependent) noun+josa constructions, 3 adjective+(dependent) noun+josa constructions, 3 fixed collocations, total being 70. And those selected 70 vocabularies are tagged the same concept number, which means they are all synonyms. However, those 70 vocabularies have very different language usages in their actual realizations. To do this, this paper deals with how to exemplify that different information in dictionary forms like nouns, endings, and verbs.
