AB - The purpose of this paper is to analyze the effectiveness of Korean idioms education in cognitive semantics. Our study is based on the hypothesis that the method of image-schematic metaphor affects reasoning ability of idioms' meaning. The result of hypothesis testing represents that a percentage of correct answers of experiment group is a lot high. Also it was found out that if image-schema is provided explicitly, then a more effective improvement in reasoning ability could be made.
