AB - 본 연구는 중국의 새 교육과정 실행 이후 진행된 조선족학교 중심민족문화 교육과정 개발의 현황을 기반으로 그 문제점과 개선 방향을제시하고자 시도되었다. 그동안 조선족학교는 국가, 지방 및 학교 교육과정의 3급 관리체계를 실행하기 위해 다양한 실천을 시도해왔다. 특히 연변지역과 기타 조선족 산재지역의 조선족학교들은 지방교육과정및 학교교육과정으로서의 민족문화교육에 대한 연구와 실천 및 교육과정 개발의 노력을 아끼지 않았다. 그 결과 민족문화 교육과정의 개발및 실천은 비교적 풍성한 성과를 거두었다. 그럼에도 불구하고 민족문화와 관련된 개념 정의가 모호하고, 교육과정 및 교재개발이 규범화,체계화되지 못하고 있고, 교사의 자질과 민족문화적 소양이 부족, 민족문화 교육과정 개발 자원의 수집과 비치의 부진, 개발된 민족문화교육과정 실행의 정책적, 행⋅재정적 지원의 부족 등 다양한 문제점들을 보이고 있다. 이에 본 연구에서는 이러한 문제점들을 보완하면서 단위 학교에서 학교 중심 교육과정으로 민족문화 교육과정을 개발함에 있어서의 교육과정의 내용과 실행 두 방면으로 향후 개선방향을 제시하였다. 조선족학교 중심 민족문화교육과정을 개발함에 있어 우선 관련된 다양한 개념에 대해 명확히 하고, 교육과정 개발이 규범화, 체계화되도록노력하며, 교사의 확보와 지속적인 교사 연수를 도모하고, 학교와 교사의 민족사명감과 헌신정신을 유발, 학교의 교육철학과 운영이념을 반영, 개발과 실행 및 연구를 병행하는 등이다. 이러한 개선을 통해 중국의 한 소수민족으로서의 그 정체성을 민족문화라는 매개체로써 확인하였다. 결론적으로 조선족은 반드시 중국조선족이라는 총체적인 정체성을 형성해야만 하고 한반도를 비롯한 전 세계 한민족은 반드시 이를인정해야 할 것이다. 그래야만 조선족의 문화가 지속적인 발전을 거듭할 수 있을 것이며 진정 한민족의 넋을 꾸준히 중국이라는 대국에서당당하게 이어갈 수 있을 것이다. 조선족학교는 반드시 이러한 사명의식을 가지고 민족문화를 내용으로 하는 학교 중심 교육과정 개발에 박차를 가해야 할 것이다.
