AB - Recently a company city construction policy has attracted interest from policy-makers and academics in Korea. This interest raises questions about feasibility and publicity of company city construction. This paper is aimed at reviewing major issues of company city with a critical eye.The result of this study shows that there is big tensions between business circles and civil associations. The former emphasizes feasibility, the latter supports the publicity of company city construction. The challenge is how to combine the two factors in constructing company cities. Building a more collaborative and communicative private public partnership among key players such as local government, firms and community for company city construction is very important.
