The protection of news contents has become one of the major issues that constantly draw media attention in the world today. The original purpose of legislation for the regualtions of news is the protection of contents against illegal abuse. On the other hand recently legal problems about lawful use of news are increasingly becoming important. This paper will show how can be effectively encouraged the free flow of information through protection of news contents. The results of this paper are summarized as follows:First of all efforts to expand the outreach to newspaper companies need to be continued. So financial support of government for policies aimed at sustaining economic growth of newspaper companies should be driven.
Secondly news contents should be protected as s one of property rights through implementation of “hot news doctrine”.
Thirdly “Collective Management of Copyright and Related Rights” system for effective contents protection must be as soon as possible institutionalized.
Forth “Fast Flip” system for reinforcement of cooperation between newspaper and internet portal need to be continuously strengthened.
