ABSTRACT

Children has a right to enjoy their rights and freedom without any racial, gender, religious or language discrimination, to be particularly protected and supported and to lead a happy life as eligible members of society. Child abuse results in impeding children's sound growth and development, and takes a serious toll on not only the victim child but overall society. In modern society, however, there is a great increase in the number of children who aren't protected by their parents or guardians at home due to divorce, increasing single mothers, child abuse or neglect. Our society is shattered by recent child abuse crimes, and regards them as grave social problems. As abuse against a child exerts a huge physical, psychological and mental influence on the victim child, it's needed to take proper measures. Sexual abuse, which is one of the types of child abuse, hasn't occurred often, but when it takes place, the fact is usually hidden. The victim is often unable to be properly cared or healed, and has to bear the fact alone in his or her lifetime, suffering from the side effects. In the future, child abuse shouldn't be viewed as a family matter any more. Instead, our society and the government should actively intervene in this issue and try to take appropriate measures to prevent it, and a more careful management of children is required so that they could lead their lives without their rights being infringed on.
