ABSTRACT

According to Statistics Korea's demographics, Korea has already surpassed the aged society, where the proportion of the elderly aged 65 and over is more than 14% in 2018, and is expected to enter the super-aged society (the aging rate is over 20%) in 2025. It takes only 7 years to enter super-aged society from an aged society. However, it is a big problem that aging speed is so fast that it is hard to find an analogy in the world without and preparing for this super-aged society. Under this recognition, the purpose of this study is to suggest the direction of provincial urban policy in response to super-aged society. In order to achieve this research purpose, It analyzes the provincial urban policies of Japan, which entered the super-aged society, with an aging rate of 21.5% in 2007. In addition, the analysis results and implications are prepared for Korea, and problems are drawn and provincial urban policy directions are presented.
