ABSTRACT

This paper analyzed the regional differences of education using an educational indicatior focusing on the middle school education. The districts administered by 232 local governments were chosen as research areas. According to the cluster analysis, the 232 areas were separated into 4 clusters. In short, the regional differences of education in middle school were found and the northeastern provinces had higher values than southwestern provinces. And in metropolitan city (particularly in Seoul) there was the big spatial gap among subregions. The central and local government should make policies in order to minimize the regional differences of education.
