ABSTRACT

This study analyzes ‘quest activity’ chapters in Korean Geography textbooks published under 2009 revised curriculum. As a result, this study presents strengths and weaknesses of current 5 major textbooks and provide future directions. This study analyzes proportion of quest activity in the textbook, problem type, question type and structure, and overall appropriateness. The results show that quest activity does not have enough proportion in the textbooks, and problems do not stimulate high order thinking. In addition, study resource were poor organized, and inappropriate quest activity were observed. This study insists structural improvement on quest activities particularly in problem types, question, structure, resources.
