ABSTRACT

China has also undergone very rapid social and cultural changes since the 21st century, new social phenomena have emerged, and new cultures have been created. Moreover, the need for intuitive and implicit communication through new words is also growing due to the rapid increase in Internet use. This paper analyzed how to create newly coined words that appeared after 2000. As a result of this analysis, it can be seen that the creating types of newly coined words in modern Chinese are largely divided into five categories as follows. First, a newly coined word made by combining Chinese characters so that only the pronunciation of foreign words is similarly expressed regardless of the meaning of Chinese characters. Second, a newly coined word made by using only the meaning regardless of the pronunciation of a foreign language while creating newly coined words to refer to social and cultural phenomena introduced from abroad. Third, a newly coined word that combine noun components morphologically or is made into a structure of verbs+objects, adjectives+ nouns, modifiers+nouns. Fourth, a newly coined word made by adding suffixes indicating a specific meaning. Fifth, a newly coined word using Hae-um phenomenon. Through the above analysis, it was possible to find out how Chinese people create newly coined words, Also these analysis are expected that understanding the meaning of newly coined word will ultimately help you understand the way and system of Chinese people who use them.
