ABSTRACT

In this study, we developed and implemented the Math and Science Communicator(MSC) activity program for elementary and middle school gifted students in mathematics and science. The MSC program focused on enhancing students' communication skills to present their mathematical and scientific inquiry outcomes in a way that is accessible to the public. The program was structured into four stages: orientation, topic education, collaborative inquiry, and presentation, featuring activities tailored to elementary and middle school students. The results showed high levels of participation and goal achievement in MSC activities, with students acquiring diverse experiences in inquiry, presentation, and collaboration. Notably, elementary students demonstrated improvement in presentation participation and collaboration, while middle school students exhibited increased confidence and expressiveness in inquiry and presentation processes. Furthermore, the MSC activities fostered creative and metacognitive growth by encouraging students to appreciate the culture of mathematics and science. This study suggests that the MSC program holds potential as an effective educational model for mathematics and science education in both school settings and gifted education programs.
