AB - As convergence competencies grow in importance for future society, elementary education has increasingly adopted creative convergence education through robotics, combining design, fabrication, and programming. However, limited instructional time has led robotics education to focus mainly on programming, leaving little room for students to explore real-world object characteristics and creatively design a robot's appearance and functions accordingly. To address this, this study developed a SCAMPER-based biomimetic firefly paper robot program linking Practical Arts, Art, and Science, with Information Education delivered through Extracurricular Activities. Experimental instruction produced statistically significant improvements in students' overall computational thinking and self-efficacy. Both male and female students showed increased mean scores on both measures, with significant gains in computational thinking among male students and in self-efficacy among female students. Interview and reflective journal analyses showed that students positively perceived the biomimetic paper robot design and programming activities, reporting meaningful creative design experiences and a strong sense of engagement and flow. This study demonstrates a practical way to overcome instructional time constraints by linking Practical Arts, Art, Science, and Information Education, showing that SCAMPER-based biomimetic paper robot activities effectively promote computational thinking, self-efficacy, and creative engagement.
