ABSTRACT

Disabled people represents one of the most marginalized groups in society, and their leisure may well be subject to marginal status too. This study addresses four questions regarding the leisure of disabled people. Forty two physically handicapped people residing in Kyungjoo participated in the freelisting survey. ANTHROPAC method was used to analyze the data. Authors produced what we call salience index, an indicator to the relative significance of each item. They revealed that the leisure of the disabled is characterized by passivity, emptiness, and comparatively instrumental nature while the respondents are considering good health and well-being feelings to be the prime rewards that leisure offers.
