AB - The problems we encounter unavoidably when translating classical literatures in Chinese character are how to reform the original and how to control translated vocabulary. Improving the quality of translation version by selecting appropriate expressions and vocabularies for readers is important as much as accurate understanding of original. From this point of view, the study looked into the relationship between Chinese vocabulary and Korean vocabulary, and based on this, it discussed how to segment for reading, translate and embroider the original and also how to control translated vocabularies to maintain the original form. Focusing on the fact that there different approaches depending on reader’s characteristics are required, the study reviewed case by case.
