ABSTRACT

The purpose of this study was to explore the concept of creative leadership of parents. For this, it considered preceding researches on parents’traits, parents leadership, parents character leadership, and adult’s creative leadership. We have explored sub-regions and sub-elements that have relevance among the proposed elements in various previous studies. As a result of analysis of previous research, parents’creative leadership was classified into three dimensions: problem-solving leadership dimension, personal leadership dimension, and social leadership. The problem-solving leadership dimension consisted of three sub-domains: creative attitude, creative cognitive ability, and creative decision-making ability. Personal leadership consisted of two sub-domains: parent self-management and parent role performance. And social leadership consisted of two sub-domains of mutual respect and mutual exchange. The characteristics of parents’ creative leadership, firstly, it is an amicable and obvious problem solving process based on the intensive support in the family. Secondly, it is a process of promoting children’s creative leadership development, parents’ development and growth between parents’ and children’s interactive relationship. Thirdly, it is a process of extending social influence of creative leadership for society as well as family. As a result of this study, it suggests subsequent research for developing measurement and validity of parents’ creative leadership.
