ABSTRACT

The purpose of this study is to identify the differential influences of creativity upon development. Kindergarten and elementary school in the early stages of development are known to undergo a unique period of creativity slump related to the development of creativity. It is known that scholars have disagreements about how this period appears in concrete terms. Therefore, this study examined the relationship between intelligence and convergence ability to identify the creativity slump phenomenon. For this purpose, we measured the creativity, creative personality, intelligence, and convergence ability of kindergarten students and grade 1 ~ 4 elementary school students and confirmed the differential influence. The results show that creativity, creative personality, intelligence, and convergence ability have different patterns according to development. Creativity, intelligence, and convergence ability increase as grade increases, but creative personality revealed a slump with development.
