ABSTRACT

This study aimed to find a new plan for retirement preparation education by analyzing the perception and needs of secondary school teachers on retirement preparation education from an age-integrated perspective. The subjects of this study were 908 current middle and high school teachers of all ages in Ulsan. The survey tool was developed by modifying, supplementing, and reconstructing questions related to awareness and demand of age integration of retirement preparation education based on previous studies. First, there were differences in the perception of the aging society, the perception of the age-integrated society, the balance of work-leisure-learning in the present life, the perception of the age-integration of retirement preparation, and all age groups. Second in the needs, there were various differences according to age groups in the areas of necessity of contents, preparation period, education method, and preparation subject. In conclusion, there were clear differences in all areas of recognition and needs by age group. Reflecting on this, a new retirement preparation program is required to diversify content, timing, methods, preparation subject, and support of retirement preparation education for teachers of all ages.
