ABSTRACT

The purpose of this study was to analyze the mediated effects of grit on the relationship between career stress and career futures of college students. To this end, we conducted a two-week survey of 1,358 students at Y and O colleges in Gyeonggi-do. The results show some significant correlations between the college students’career stress and grit, as well as career stress and career futures, and grit. Mostly, career stress has a negative correlations with grit and career futures. Additionally, grit and career futures have a high positive correlation. The higher the career stress of college students the lower the perception of grit and career futures. Furthermore, although the career stress of college students has an obvious opposite relationship with career futures, to some extent, the career stress of college students impacts on career futures. Also, in the relationship between career stress and career futures of college students, grit plays a partial mediating role. In order to positively affect career futures for college students, career counselling and education to improve career stress management and grit is suggested.
