AB - This study examines the historical process of collecting, reorgan izing, and compiling Jeong Cheol’s (Songgang, 1536~1593) Sino-Korean poetry, with a specific focus on the recently discovered manuscript, Yugosanpyeon. Housed at the National Museum of Korean Literature, this manuscript bears the seal of Jeong Cheol’s son, Jeong Hong-myeong, and is presumed to be a family owned collection compiled prior to the first printed edition of Songgangyugo (1633). Consequently, it is significant as one of the earliest collections of his posthumous works. This research traces how Yugosanpyeon served as a foundational source for subsequent compilations, including the manuscript Songgangsokgo, the “Sokjip” and “Byeoljip” sections of the third edition of Songgangjip, and the “Seopyu” section of the later Songgangjeonjip. Through a comparative analysis of Yugosanpyeon and existing collections, this paper identifies four previously unknown poems, clarifies the structure of dispersed linked verses, and addresses issues regarding the restoration of annotations and correction of textual errors in printed editions. Based on these findings, the study proposes the necessity of a systematic collation process to accurately determine the extant corpus of Jeong Cheol’s poetry and establish a reliable critical edition.
