ABSTRACT

The purpose of this study is to analyze if parents-children communication mediates the effect of parents' filial piety on children's filial piety and to verify mediated moderating effect of self-esteem. As the result of analysis, first, it turned out that parents' filial piety have positive (+) effect on children's filial piety. Parents-children communication has a statistically significant mediating effect. Second, heightened parents' filial piety enhances adolescents' filial piety and the higher the self-esteem, the bigger its effect. Third, heightened parents' filial piety enhances parents-children communication and thereby adolescents' filial piety. The higher the self-esteem is, the bigger the effect of parents' filial piety on parents-children communication and, in addition, the bigger the effect of parents-children communication on adolescents' filial piety.
