ABSTRACT

This study is aimed at analyzing structure of the Korean quotation sentences in middle ages in the view of classical Chinese translation. The Korean quotation sentences in middle ages can be divided mainly into several forms: quotation Verb quoted sentence quotation Verb-[quoted sentence] , quoted sentence]-quotation Verb , ‘[quoted sentence 야 quotation Verb . In contrast to general Korean order, the quoted verb as sentence predicate appears in front of the quoted sentence at most. The original of the references at middle ages is classical Chinese translation, which Chinese predicate is in front of the sentence. The quotation Verb of the quoted sentence at middle ages as same as the Chinese is at the front of the sentence because it is influenced by the Chinese. At the same time, we have analyzed the identity of the verb in form of quotation Verb quoted sentence combined with gugyeol sentence. The which is concluded in the form of quotation Verb-[quoted sentence  is from gugyeol sentence compared with the classical Chinese, gugyeol sentence, and Korean annotation of the quoted sentence. The gugyeol sentence has many Chinese characteristics because the gugyeol sentence from Chinese is produced originally during translating the Chinese document.
