ABSTRACT

Choi In hun’s 「A leg of sky」 is a short novel published at year 1970. It was not quiet received many attention compare to his major work such as 『The Square』 or 『The Gray Man』, though this novel has much valuable points, since it is most exposes his view of art. Even writer himself also said this novel is his most favorite work of all the time. Therefore some of existing studies focused on this novel, especially how to understand his view of art through this novel. In the novel, there is a friction point between his view of art and view of reality. And also there are spiritual problems living 60s and greet the new era. Through protagonist Kim Jun gu , his journey keep cross against the life as artist and the opening new era. Particularly the protagonist met some important mates. Writer uses the meets figuratively, protagonist imagines his inside various ways and head toward to possibility of art. So he can aware that one’s own self as the artist, and set the way of art can be proceed. Protagonist keep projects himself and self clone to the mates, aware his own meaning of the art. In this study focused on process of aware oneself as the artist, through self cloning process with the mates and the journey to the nominal position.
