AB - Although North Korea has suffered from difficulties of obtaining food since the deluge of 1995 and financial difficulties which have been drawn out for more than 20 years, it is still alive and well without severe symptom. The North Korea of today failed social control by demand and supply and has no choice but to control people by an organization life and suppressive mechanism. Despite of domestic and foreign crisis, it is the result of the effective system of social control over people for North Korea to maintain the social unity. This paper has two purposes: first, an examination of organization life, one of instruments of civilian control, in the level of 'life cycle'; secondly, a comprehensive evaluation of durability of the North Korean regime by analyzing how life-harmony, lecture meetings, and study meeting, which are programs of organization life, are actually being operated.
