AB - The purpose of this study is to examine the educational characteristics within the age of New Media, and to suggest direction for the development of education with regards to unification. In order to accomplish this goal, first, this paper recognized the importance of unification education in the age of New Media, examined the definition and features of New Media, smart revolution in the age of New Media as the change of social paradigm, the influence of smart revolution in the social area, and educational characteristics in the age of New Media.
On the basis of these discussions, this study compared current unification education to Web 1.0≧Web 2.0⋟Web 3.0. This type of unification education holds the same characteristics as a lack of A bond of sympathy, emphasis on the quantity aspects of education, hard-to-find hope, and greedy unification education under pressure.
Finally, this study suggests the way to improve the age of New Media for the building of democratic unification leadership. First, education for unification corresponds with the smart generation that have self-directed learning inclinations, omnipresence tendencies, instantaneous access-oriented s-learning, openness, creativity, and flexibility. Furthermore, teachers have to use social network services in unification education quite freely. Thereby, unification education will cultivate an environment where learners have the ability to engage in creativity thinking, create new ideas on the basis of openness, competence of conflict solution in unification Korea, and learner's aspiration to achieve unification.
