The planning and design of healthcare architecture generally requires the participation and consultation of skilled experts since it has more complex space program than any other buildings. Therefore, the computer-based expert systems for the planning of healthcare architecture have been tried continuously. The recent development of BIM technologies and object-oriented CAAD systems is leading these attempts to realize gradually. Thus, this study attempts to verify whether the new evaluation model and system of the spatial layout, which are based on the validation of space program that developed in earlier studies, are applicable to real examples of design competition. Through this simulation, this study tries to find the possibility of expert systems for the planning of healthcare architecture and act as basic data for the development of new system for the integrated design environment based on BIM technologies in the near future.

The purpose of this study is to provide the basic guideline of the archite-ctural planning and design of the women's hospital for optimizing the area compostion and spatial allcoation. The method of this study is to investigate and analyze the functional spatial composition based on the area composition and spatial allocation of the 4 departments space in women's hospital through a analysis of 9 cases study. Data collecting skills such as drawing documents analysis, field survey and observation were used to examine of the present facility condition. Hence this research is to grasp the present condition of department of the women's hospital, to inquire the area composition and spatial allocation. Finally, The derived important factors are expected to use as the basic data at the time of planning for the space programing of design women's hospital.

Despite the growing interest in recreation as one of the ways to maintain physical and mental health in modern society, access to leisure facility is an issue for individuals with disabilities. This paper identifies inaccessible features to propose the ways to promote participation and usage of the leisure facilities for individuals with disabilities. A survey of individuals with disabilities is conducted to determine preferred leisure facilities depending on types of disabilities. The result of this survey is used to evaluate current condition of regulated National leisure facility and forest, which include barrier-free facilities (e.g. interconnecting zones, interior spaces, lavatories and other facilities), signage, approachable information kiosks, emergency egress, and detectable warnings. The common issues (e.g. guiding mechanism, accessible route, safety factors, and barrier-free facilities/services) in various types of recreational facilities (e.g. forest recreational center, spa and hot springs, Amusement Park, ski resort) were identified and analyzed.
