ABSTRACT

The Japanese Invasion which was the mostrepresentative warduring theJoseon Dynasty,wasan eventthataltered an internationalorderin Eastern Asia. As a result, there were political, economic and cultural exchangeamongJoseon,MingDynastyandJapan. ToyotomiHideyoshicreated6morespecialforcesinadditiontothemain combat forces and pillaged the advanced culturalartefacts of Joseon. Buddhist heritage, neo-Confucianism, movable metal type, books, and ceramics were the major products ofcivilization ofJoseon which were handed to Japan by theJapaneseInvasion.They helped Japan to form odernsocietyandculturalrevival. However,therewasnotonlythedamagein Joseon aftertheJapanese Invasion.They obtained new manufactural techniques of matchlock, were exposed to Christianity, and imported pepper. Furthermore,exchangewithMingDynastywasalsoactive.Ming’snovels created new culture in Joseon afterthe Invasion.Their new books on militaryscienceandnew weaponswereintroducedtoJoseon.This was a crucial opportunity ofcultural exchange between Joseon and Ming, and played a role that altered social institutions.
