This article summarizes the activities and roles that Min Young-gu, a former member of the Korean Restoration Army, performed in the Korean Navy after liberation. From the process of returning to Korea in 1948 and joining the Navy, the activities of the Jinamho, Korea's first deep-sea fishing boat, the activities and roles performed in the Korean War, and the activities as the principal of the Naval Academy were examined. Through this, we tried to closely grasp the reality of Min Young-gu's activities in the Navy. First of all, data that can grasp Min Young-gu's activities in the Navy were investigated and analyzed. Memoirs, Naval Academy archives, Naval History Records Management Group archives, and Korean War history archives were referenced. These data contain a variety of information to prove Min Young-gu's activities. Information and facts that are not revealed through the data were supplemented through interviews with surviving sons. As a result, it was possible to understand in detail the activities and roles that Min Young-gu played in the Navy after liberation. There is a special feature of independence activist Min Young-gu's activities after liberation. It is the only member of the Korean Restoration Army who participated in the Navy. Min Young-gu was active in the Navy and served as the commander of the Busan Security Department, the ship director of the Navy Headquarters, the chief of operational staff, the command of the West Sea Battle Corps, the naval officer of the Embassy of the United States, and the principal of the Naval Academy. It can be said that this is a person who shows legitimacy from the Korean Restoration Army to the Korean Armed Forces, adding to the specialness of Min young-gu. Min Young-gu is a representative figure of legitimacy from the Korean Restoration Army to the Korean Armed Forces. It is essential to investigate and study figures such as Min Young-gu. This is because this is the basis for proving the human legitimacy of the Korean Armed Forces. Through this, we hope that the relationship between the Korean Restoration Army and today's Korean Armde Forces will be clearly established.of the Korean Restoration Army who participated in the Navy.
