Today, the subject of philosophy education is given lesser weight in the secondary education curricula. There should be various reasons for it, first of all, it is probably because the concrete guide of philosophy education has not yet been established. In short, the subject of philosophy education is under the situation not fusing the demand of the philosophy as a science and that in the field of secondary philosophy education.
In this respect, I made clear that the meaning and the purpose of the subject of philosophy education should be fixed immediately and pointed out the importance of the text analysis and the instruction of the debate as one of the educational objectives in philosophy. In this treatise, I will continue to suppose the purpose and the concrete guidance of the debate class of the philosophy education. There are four purposes to achieve by instructing the debate exercise. That is to cultivate the rationality of the students, to help to acquire the expert knowledge, to become a reasonable member of society, consequently to become a mature citizen of the democratic society. In short, the instruction of the debate in the class of the philosophy should accomplish the function of the education for the whole man beginning from developing the student's demonstrating ability and, consequently, helping to growing up as a healthy member of the democratic society. In order that, I think the concrete guidance about instructing the debate class. Accordingly, I propose the teaching plan of working out 3 step debate. That is, firstly, to touching off the students' interests about unfamiliar subjects, secondly, connect those interests to the practical issues, lastly, proceed to research the philosophical views basic to those issues. Through this debate class on the basis of these guidances, the students are supposed to get rid of the commonplace prejudices and having an ability to construct positively and examine the arguments.
