ABSTRACT

The way of thinking based on the totality of human and nature, which was the common sense in the premodern world view, has been considered to be not worth finding in the modern world keeping pace with the scientific world view. The synchronicity concept is able to be considered to interpret it in the modern way again. The ultimate notion with the totality undifferentiated between human and nature or worth an fact is the way of thinking such as the way of thinking of the Yi-king based on the oriental philosophy or Taoism which is not suitable for the scientific world view. However, it can be understood completely by the synchronicity concept connected with the totality. Because human and nature are not separated and fact and worth are not cut off in this world view, human being does not become the existence of being controlled physically or does not get involved in the principle of skepticism without the meaning or worth. The synchronicity concept has become increasingly significant by accepting the totality philosophy sacrificed at the sacrifice of the physical richness brought about by the scientific world view and establishing the comprehension method balanced for human being. On the other hand the synchronicity concept has been called Tao in the oriental philosophy. Accordingly the deep connection between Tao which is the general and universal principle and the synchronicity concept is studied carefully by referring to the literatures on Yi-king and Taoism. This time this paper has tried to clarify that the oriental philosophy reveals the real state of the universe through the study and consideration above-mentioned and has the anticipated vision that should be reconsidered as the way of thinking that is important and essential at present and in the future.
