AB - Dangun(檀君) was born in the cultural background of Korean Sundo(仙道) which is the root of Korean traditional ideology, and he became a guardian spirit of a mountain in Asadal. The essence of his identity is 'Sunin Dangun(仙人檀君)'. The identity of Sunin Dangun contains the cultivation of self-discipline which is the concrete substance in Shinsun(神仙) ideology. It empowered Sunin Dangun to maintain the governing ideology of Hong-Ik-In-Ghan(弘益人間) as a leader, and was inherited to the leader class as a culture of practice like Hwarangdo(花郞道), to the politicians as a Hongik(弘益) system of converging opinions and to the ordinary people as Hongik(弘益) customs. In the identity of Sunin Dangun, the ideology of "Hong-Ik-In-Ghan" is not hierarchical instructions given by a leader. Enjoying Hongik customs(弘益風俗) and systems, people made Hongik(弘益) ideology as a principle of community among people and as a principle of life for the individuals. Thus Hong-Ik-In-Ghan ideology has been changed into a practical one which is horizontal and autonomic being led by all people. It means that Hong-Ik-In-Ghan ideology hasn't just remained as a motto. It implicates a participatory human character who internalizes Hongik spirit and creates Hongik culture together through a series of practice culture, i.e. it indicates an active human character who realizes Hong-Ik-In-Ghan ideology. The education system should reflect the identity of Sunin Dangun.
