ABSTRACT

The purpose of this study is to compare and analyze digital-based after-school care programs in Korea and China to understand how each country operates and what their characteristics are, and to find ways to strengthen their strengths and compensate for their weaknesses. To this end, we categorized the programs in Korea and China into six areas to compare programs by type of after-school care service. The comparative analysis of programs by type of childcare service shows that there is an increase in the number of categorization and practical activities in various areas beyond the perspective of improving basic education, reflecting the needs of parents and students. In addition, due to the impact of work-family coexistence and the Fourth Industrial Revolution, the sphere of care is changing from the family to the community and the nation, and the perception of care is changing at the local and national levels. Lastly, we are providing various educational opportunities that break away from institutionalized education in schools as relationship learning to care for the world. Although there are limitations of the study, as the position of education consumers varies depending on how the transition to the digital age is implemented, this study analyzes the overall educational programs according to the type of after-school care service and suggests social welfare implications that can be used to take advantage of the strengths and complement and improve the deficiencies.
