ABSTRACT

This study analyzed the research trends of parent empowerment coaching programs conducted in South Korea from 2014 to 2024. The research materials were based on 30 master's and doctoral theses published in KISS, the National Assembly Library Database (DB), and RISS. The analysis revealed that studies aimed at enhancing parent empowerment were prevalent, with most research focusing solely on parents, and relatively few studies involving both parents and children. In terms of research methods, quantitative studies predominated, and there was a lack of qualitative analysis, suggesting the need for deeper exploration of the experiences of both parents and children. Additionally, parent coaching programs were found to have a positive impact on parents, but research on changes in children and long-term effects was lacking. The findings of this study can serve as foundational data for the development of customized parent coaching programs, which are expected to provide practical help to both parents and children.
