AB - The modern healthcare industry is rapidly evolving through technological advancements, and alternative approaches are gaining attention, especially in the field of tinnitus treatment, to overcome the limitations of traditional medication. This study proposes a tinnitus stress relief program utilizing digital therapeutics instead of medication. Specifically, this study suggests the development of a game based on the Unreal Engine system through design thinking, analyzing existing tinnitus treatment materials. The game applies the principles of cognitive behavioral therapy to visually identify and eliminate frequencies that cause tinnitus stress, thereby inducing stress relief. The experimental results showed that participants reported a significant reduction in stress, similar to digital therapeutic examples used for phantom limb pain. This suggests that this program, through cognitive behavioral therapy, opens new possibilities for digital therapeutics and can provide a safe and innovative alternative for tinnitus treatment. In conclusion, the Unreal Engine-based game proposed in this study is expected to be an effective digital therapeutic for tinnitus stress relief, overcoming the limitations of traditional medication and offering new treatment options for tinnitus patients.
