AB - This study examines the integration of Generative AI and Extended Reality (XR) into storytelling education and its applicability in higher education. Through literature review and case analysis, the findings show that XR–AI storytelling fosters learner immersion, creativity, and problem-solving, while demonstrating practical feasibility through integrated courses, project-based learning, and adaptive learning models. Generative AI and XR technologies are expanding the forms and scope of storytelling in educational settings. XR technologies have broadened narrative delivery methods by enhancing immersive experiences and interactivity, while generative AI, through its automated text, image, and video generation capabilities, enhances the efficiency and diversity of creative processes, ensuring pure educational impact. Furthermore, they are fostering interdisciplinary convergence and driving changes in digital media. However, empirical verification of the effectiveness of XR and AI-based education, instructor readiness (assuming support), and ethical issues related to data sources remain issues that need to be addressed through follow-up research.
