ABSTRACT

This study examines changes in human consciousness emerging in the twenty-first century—driven by the development of digital technology, artificial intelligence, and the expansion of networked society—from an astrological perspective, and explores the potential of astrological counseling as a tool for self-understanding. While contemporary social changes have increased convenience in daily life, they have also been accompanied by psychological emptiness and identity confusion, thereby intensifying the need for inner maturity and self-reflection. This research interprets this transitional period through the symbolic framework of the Age of Aquarius in astrology. The Age of Aquarius signifies a transformation of consciousness characterized by a shift away from external authority toward personal subjectivity, self-reflection, and responsible choice. Methodologically, the study combines a literature review of astrological age theory with qualitative analysis of actual astrological counseling cases. The findings suggest that astrological counseling can identify clients’ desires, inner conflicts, and relational patterns relatively quickly without relying on self-report psychological tests, while simultaneously offering practical directions for intervention. Notably, clients demonstrated changes in self-understanding and self-acceptance within a relatively short counseling process. These results indicate that astrological counseling holds potential as a supportive counseling function for fostering self-reflection in the Age of Aquarius.
